Carat : To classify
the diamond size, it is determined by weight. Of course, a carat is unit
measurement of diamond weight.
Carat is the standard to measure the weight
of gemstones. If we compare a unit of carat with the standard metric measurement,
One carat equal to 0.2 grams (200
milligrams).
Moreover, carat is used to measure the
purity of gold as well but writing as karat. The gold weighted 24 karat has as value
as 100% pure of gold.
The carat word is taken from carob seed
which their attribute are the same weight and shape in every seeds. In ancient
times, the ancient people used carob seed to balance scales because no clear standard
to measured gemstones in that time, therefore the carat is used as the unit
measurement of gemstones.

Color : More colorless of diamond is more valuable. When we think of diamond jewelry, most people will think to its color in white diamond since it can be sparkle and shine the light perfectly.
To classify the colors of diamonds, it can be
sorted by D to Z. Most jewelers refer to
GIA’s professional color scale to grade the diamond, the D alphabet is the best
quality of diamond as colorless and the flowed
alphabets down to Z are less valuable stone respectively. Most people desire
the diamond grade D, E, F because it’s most valuable, absolutely exquisite and also rarely
to find.
The diamond grade D, E, F have no adulterated
color as colorless or whiteness. The other colors moved on a soft ivory color
may be represented by G alphabet, moving down the yellow color may represented
L, dark color is P through Z which is bright yellow and has been split into
color fancy of diamonds.
Please also note that the Fancy color diamonds
are not concerning to this valuable rule. They are really more valuable for
their color. Some color is very rare and more prize such any color from blue to
green to bright yellow.

To identify
the diamond’s color, will separate white and yellow only. For other colors are
fancy diamonds which have bright colors for their color.
The reason for splitting out the
yellow color because when carbon in the diamond is obtained heat or other
chemical components, it will make a difference to color of diamond.
The yellow diamond has the nitrogen component
in it.
Blue diamond may have titanium and steel
composed.
Red diamond may cause by
chromium.
The pink diamond is sprung from
the structure of diamond itself.
The green diamond may cause by
obtained some ray.
These
procedures above resulted in a fancy diamond with various colors and some kind
of them is expensive more than white diamond because rarely find them. However
the white diamond still is beloved more than the fancy diamond. At the present,
many jewelry industries can improve quality of white diamond in order to create
the fancy diamond such as burning method, perfuming method or radiation method.
Resulting in a variety of colors such as green color, yellow color, light blue
color and so on.
Cut
: Most critical of the 4Cs is the cutting procedure because this is the way to
reveal three main attributes of diamond jewelry that are sparkle, brilliance
and fire.
Diamond jewelries have different shape depended on their
cutting but all cutting is for brilliance purpose only. The prize of them up on
the amount of light diamond reflects.
How the light disperses in different color of the
spectrum, when you move the diamond around the light, the diamond will shine
the light back in different colors as the rainbow colors.
The
cutting method is the biggest consequence on how the gemstone catches and its
interaction with light. Therefore the beautiful diamond will depend on the
diamond jewelry craftsman’s skill in transforming a rough diamond into the
exquisite diamond jewelry.
