glance, you have to know the 4Cs of diamond. What is the 4Cs? Well, please read
the following as hereunder.
The 4Cs of
diamond are composed by Clarity, Carat, Color and Cut. The diamond industry
used them for grading and classifying diamond quality.
Clarity : Most diamonds have some inner flaws and the
number of them is determined the clarity of this rare valuable gemstone.
The diamond’s classification is based on the inner purity. According to
international standard, this can be classified as follows.
1.Flawless
(FL) : The best diamond, this is the most beautiful diamond elite. No marks or
blemishes inner and outer of diamond jewelry when viewed under 10x
magnification (10X) by diamond loupe.
2 .Internal
Flawless (IF) : This is the beautiful diamond. No marks or blemishes inner of
the diamond when viewed under 10x magnification.
3.Very Very
Small Inclusion (VVS1 / VVS2) : This diamond quality has the level of diamond’s
inner impurity as very very less then
visible without 10x magnification by diamond loupe and also quite takes a long
time to find its blemishes that depending on the expertise of the examiner . It
can be classified into Level1 and Level2 respectively. If there are very little
inner blemishes can be used VVS1, more obvious will use VVS2.
4.Very Small
Inclusion (VS1 / VS2) : The impurity level that cannot be seen by the normal
eyes. We have to use diamond loupe to examine them with 10x magnification. However, it takes time less than VVS level to
find the inner blemishes. However the flaws can be seen more clearly than diamond’s
VVS level and maybe has various colors in the blemish.
5.Small
Inclusion (SI1 / SI2) : The diamond level of impurity that can be seen
immediately under 10x magnification and some cases can be seen with normal eyes.
However the small size may be observed by using white paper lay over and
looking up to the light to see clearly. In the eyes of inexpert, may take a
long time to notice.
6.Inclusion
(I1 / I2 / I3) : The diamond impurity level that can be clearly seen with
normal eyes. There are a lot of blemishes which can be observed easily.
